The snow hates me

Yesterday I got to enjoy the snow that fell over North Carolina!  It was beautiful and it made for a white Christmas here in the South!  The yards are still covered white and I can smell the fires burning in everyone's fireplace.  I love it - getting to be all cuddled up on the couch watching old movies, drinking hot cocoa, and enjoying the view!

Although all the snow is beautiful....I wasn't actually supposed to enjoy it!  :(  For Christmas one of the things my husband bought me was a plane ticket to fly down to Florida to see my family (parents, sister, & grents)  I was supposed to leave yesterday morning but, as you can guess...it didn't happen!  I got to the airport an hour before the plane was supposed to leave, said goodbye to the hubs, and headed through security and to my gate.  That was the first step of flying alone. Check!  I got to my gate only to find out the flight was delayed and moved to another gate.  So I waited patiently & actually met a new friend that is going to the college I graduated from.  We boarded the plane about an hour late and I thought things were smooth sailing.  Welp..I was wrong again.  We sat in the terminal for awhile and then pulled out a little bit...

We sat in the plane not moving for almost three hours.  They brought us back to the terminal since it is against the law to keep passengers on a not-moving plane for three hours or more.  Apparently they still needed to de-ice the plane then about 30 minutes later they announced that the de-ice truck broke down.  THEN...as if that wasn't enough they announced that there was not anymore liquid for the de-icing trucks left in the entire city.  Are you joking me?!?  So anyways...we pulled back to the terminal and I got off the plane.  No worries- I got the plane ticket reimbursed so no one was out anything.  I think the plane finally took off around 1:45ish...I was NOT sitting on the plane that long only to get to the connection flight that had already taken off hours before (without me!) to wait in Atlanta with everyone else that was mad at the airlines.  Nope, no thank you, not how I want to spend vacation.
So needless to say...I will see my family when they return and I will make time to go down and visit the grandparents when the weather feels like cooperating! Until then, I guess I'll have to do some after Christmas shopping and enjoy the snow! :)
